In My Mailbox (Feb. 7, 2010)

The weekly In My Mailbox post is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It is fun to see what everyone else gets in their mailboxes, shopping bags, and library visits.

Click on the link to The Story Siren's site to see the rules and join in the fun. I guarantee that your TBR pile will grow when you see all the cool books everyone gets. You will discover lots of wonderful blogs and lots of books that you won't be able to live without.

While you are here, don't forget to check out my first contest. I am giving away a box of 9 books to celebrate my 2 year anniversay of this blog.

I got a huge bunch of books this week.

For my Kindle:

Dear John by Nicholas Sparks -- I have never read anything by him but, with the movie coming soon, I thought I would try one.

The Apothecary's Daughter by Julie Klassen was free for the Kindle this week and it looked good.

Hot Rocks by Nora Roberts -- I read NR but somehow seem to have missed this one.

Slow Heat by Jill Shalvis -- I don't know why, but I love romances between ordinary women and professional athletes, especially baseball players.

Back in Black by Lori Foster -- See above minus the baseball.

Unknown by Rachel Caine -- I read the first and want to know what happens next. I'm a fan of Rachel Caine's adult books.

I got these other adult books this week.

Pride Mates by Jennifer Ashley -- Hey, new paranormal. I didn't need to see anything else.

Flirt by Laurell K. Hamilton -- New Anita Blake. Had to have it.

Steamed by Katie MacAlister -- Steampunk! Looked interesting.

Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler -- Paranormal and looked good.

Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh -- Love Nalini Singh and loved the first book in the series.

Blood Magic by Eileen Wilks -- Love this series. Can't wait to start this book.

Murder Can Kill Your Social Life by Selma Eichler -- This series was recommended on a blog I read last weekend. So I decided to get the first book and see what I think.

I won The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Euler from Karin at Karin's Book Nook. (Thanks, Karin!) This is a 2010 YA Debut Author even though the publication date was Dec. 29, 1009.

Eyes of Crow by Jeri Smith-Ready -- I didn't know she wrote fantasy too. I know she has her first YA coming out this year. I have read Wicked Game and have Bad to the Bone on my TBR stack.

I also added these YA books.

L. A. Candy by Lauren Conrad -- Because I wanted to read a YA that was not paranormal.

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen because I have never read anything by Dessen before.

The Vampire Diaries Vol 2 by L. J. Smith because I finished Vol. 1 and what to know what happens next.

Golden, Tattoo, and Fate by Jennifer Lynn Barnes because I am intrigued by Raised by Wolves which comes out this year and haven't read anything by her before.

That's what I added to my stack. Which should I read first? How about you? Get anything good this week?

  20. Nicholas Sparks is great - my favourites are A Walk to Remember and The Notebook, but they always make me cry! Slow Heat and Back in Black look REALLY good! :-) Nicole Peeler's novel looks intriguing (and a little Sookie Stackhouse ish) although strangely the cover screams YA... weird. Great post this week! Thanks, I enjoyed reading!
