Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

Called Home: Two Hearts Answer by Gloria Schumann finally made it to the top of my TBR stack. I received this one from the author for review.

Here is the product description from Amazon:
Emma Benson's view of life was crafted by the death of her brother as a child, abandonment by her father and later, the man she trusted she would marry, until David Schlosser-back in town after years in New York writing best-selling novels-threatens her neatly tended life. Romance blooms. Emma and David eventually persevere in the face of tragedy, refusing to leave their dreams behind.
Beginning:
It felt like home and yet it didn't. The farmhouse Emma stood in now was the one she grew up in and was still the same, with the exception of some sorely needed repairs, yet it seemed different.
Friday 56 (estimated):
It's none of your business. And I would very much appreciate your keeping your nose out of it, lest you find it in a place you'd rather it not be, like out of joint." Her deep blue eyes challenged him to continue.

  4. Oh, a feisty girl here! Ha. You know what they say, you can never go home.

My book beginning is part of my book review for the wonderful historical novel: Between Shades of Gray.

  7. Hi Kathy,

This book seems to have been getting consistently good reviews and I love those opening lines.

They evoke feelings of sadness, that we can never really go back in our lives, but must continually move forwards, whether we want to or not.
