I chose What Angels Fear by C. S. Harris to spotlight this week. I bought this one for my Kindle on July 16, 2009. It is the first in the 10 book Sebastian St. Cyr mystery series. Here is the description from Amazon:
It's 1811, and the threat of revolution haunts the upper classes of King George III's England. Then a beautiful young woman is found savagely murdered on the altar steps of an ancient church near Westminster Abbey. A dueling pistol found at the scene and the damning testimony of a witness both point to one man-Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, a brilliant young nobleman shattered by his experience in the Napoleonic Wars.Beginning:
She blamed the fog. She wasn't normally this nervous. This afraid.Friday 56:
But no one would think to set a watch upon the actress who'd been playing Rosalind to Rachel's Celia in the Covent Garden production of As You Like It. the woman who'd broken Sebastian's heart six long years ago...
I've heard of this series and it sounds so good. Happy reading!

Nothing like a little fog to increase fears. Cue the creepy music. It looks very sensational.

I love historical mysteries. These clips make it seem very tense, as well as thought-out by a bad guy in the 56. I need to look into this series.
ReplyDeleteI just added this one to my TBR! Great cover, great premise, and fantastic beginning! Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to read it!
