Beginning:
They buried Joe three days after his murder.Friday 56 (location 560 on my Kindle):
Maya read somewhere that the average two year old has a vocabulary of about fifty words. That seemed about right. "More" was a big one on the little-kid list. This week I am spotlighting the latest by Harlan Coben - Fool Me Once. I was offered this one for review by the publisher. Here is the description from Amazon:
In the course of eight consecutive #1 New York Times bestsellers, millions of readers have discovered Harlan Coben’s page-turning thrillers, filled with his trademark edge-of-your-seat suspense and gut-wrenching emotion. In Fool Me Once, Coben once again outdoes himself.
Former special ops pilot Maya, home from the war, sees an unthinkable image captured by her nanny cam while she is at work: her two-year-old daughter playing with Maya’s husband, Joe—who had been brutally murdered two weeks earlier. The provocative question at the heart of the mystery: Can you believe everything you see with your own eyes, even when you desperately want to? To find the answer, Maya must finally come to terms with deep secrets and deceit in her own past before she can face the unbelievable truth about her husband—and herself.

ReplyDeleteOh, wow, this one does sound like one I wouldn't be able to put down. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThis is an author I've really been wanting to try! I have a couple of his books and they all sound really great. I love the sound of the teasers and blurb on this one. Definitely adding it to my TBR!
ReplyDeleteDon't know how I've managed to avoid reading Harlan Coben. I've got several of his books on my "must read" list, and now I'm adding this one! Thanks for sharing, and happy reading this week!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an intense read. I hope you enjoy it, thanks for sharing. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've read and enjoyed a few of Coben's stand-alone novels. This one sounds really good, so on my list it goes.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI have quite a few books by this author on my shelves already. As my dad is into his 90s, he doesn't get out too much, so as he loves to read, I buy him books from the charity shop, which he reads then passes back to me. Harlan Coben, is one of those authors whose work turns up on a regular basis and whose writing style dad will readily recommend.
Even if I didn't know about Harlan's work, that first line alone, would be more than enough to keep me reading on!
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your weekend :)

I've tried to get into Coben but for some reason I've never had much luck. This one does sound good though. :)
