Friday: Changeless by Gail Carriger

Happy Friday everybody!!

Book Beginnings

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Becky at Page Turners. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading. If you like, share with everyone why you do, or do not, like the sentence.

Thank you to Rose City Reader for sparking the idea for this meme. On Rose City Reader you will find 'Opening Sentences of the Day' so please have a look at this wonderful blog for further opportunities to share opening sentences.

My book beginning comes from Changeless by Gail Carriger.
They are what?
(Alexia is awakened by her husband yelling at one of the family ghosts.)

The Friday 56

Rules:
  • Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
  • Turn to page 56.
  • Find the fifth sentence.
  • Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of Storytime with Tonya and Friends.
  • Post a link along with your post back to Storytime with Tonya and Friends.
  • Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.
Also from Changeless by Gail Carriger comes:
My husband left off his nibbling to say. "You make him sound like some sort of disease."
"You have met him, I assume?"
Both sentences just hint at the total awesomeness that is Changeless. I am loving this sequel to Soulless. Alexi Maccon (formerly Tarabotti) is still he wonderfully pragmatic self as she tries to find out what is causing supernaturals to become human.

  5. I am not too sure about that first line actually. I don't know about starting a book mid-way though a conversation?

I am glad that you are enjoying it though, I haven't heard of those books
