In My Mailbox (Jan. 23, 2011)

The weekly In My Mailbox post is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It is fun to see what everyone else gets in their mailboxes, shopping bags, and library visits. Click on the link to The Story Siren's site to see the rules and join in the fun.

I guarantee that your TBR pile will grow when you see all the wonderful books everyone gets. You will discover lots of great blogs and lots of books that you won't be able to live without.

I got an interesting variety of books this week. I purchased these two print books.
I got The Griffin Mage Trilogy by Rachel Neumeier from the Science Fiction Book Club. I like their anthologies. It is possible to get a whole series from them in hardcover for less than it would cost to buy each book individually. This is a high fantasy series with griffins (an underused supernatural being in my humble opinion) and sounded like a good series to begin. It is also the number 2 book on their list of 100 bestsellers.

I got Pack of Lies by Laura Ann Gilman. I had read and reviewed the eARC from Luna Books and NetGalley and wanted to own this book for my personal collection. I like the way this series is going. I find the world interesting and Bonnie to be a fascinating and sympathetic character.

I also got some books for my Kindle this week. These were free offerings.
Summer at Willow Lake by Susan Wiggs sounded like a nice romance. Heroes, Zombies and Sausages is a sampler of books coming soon from Orbit. They are a wide variety of Science Fiction and Fantasy titles.

I also got these for my Kindle on the recommendation of my friend Bev. It is almost unbelievable considering the number of feeds in my Google Reader, but she follows some blogs I do not, saw these, and thought we would enjoy them.
Soul Stalker and Shadow of the Sun are the first two books in the Timeless series by Laura Kreitzer. These are paranormals with angels and sound very interesting. They also have very lovely covers.

I also received one print book for review this week.
Sing You Home will be my first Jodi Picoult. I am looking forward to sampling her work. She tackles the hot button issue of Gay Rights in this story. Luckily, the book won't be published until March 1 because I have quite a few review books on my stack right now.

That was my mailbox. Did you get anything interesting in yours?

  2. Interesting! I keep seeing Laura's book around lately. Haven't read this series of her. Tried to read her other one, but lost interest after a few books.
