My book this week is A Creed in Stone Creek by Linda Lael Miller. I am reading the eARC that I got from Harlequin via NetGalley. I used to read Linda Lael Miller books all the time but it has been at least a couple of years since I have read anything by her. I actually have 58 of them in my personal collection. This seemed like a good time to see if she still has her magic for me.
Some instinct--or maybe just a stir of a breeze--awakened Steven Creed; he sat up in bed, took a fraction of a moment to orient himself to unfamiliar surroundings. One by one the mental tumblers clicked into place. This is a nice start. It is descriptive. I'm curious to know what woke him. If you are curious too, the book will be published on Feb. 22.
Sounds like a promising beginning!

I've been very curious about this author, but haven't read anything she's written...yet. This one does have a promising opener, and I like the image of his "mental tumblers" at work.
