It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (Feb. 4, 2013)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I had a good week last week. We had a couple of days off from school because everything was coated with ice. I spent some of my extra time reading. Everything I read this past week was from my review stack.
Young Adult Books
Hattie Ever After by Kirby Larson was a wonderful sequel to Hattie Big Sky. This historical fiction story made me fall in love with Hattie and made me feel like I was there with her in San Francisco in 1919. My review will be posted on February 7.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer was also wonderful. It was a sequel to Cinder and was filled with well-drawn characters. While the main character in this one was Scarlet, Cinder also had a major role. I can't wait for the next book in this science fiction series. My review is here.
Adult Books
The Buckhorn Legacy by Lori Foster was a very nice contemporary romance. I enjoyed that the characters were finally in the right time and place for each other. My review is here.

Not Quite Dating by Catherine Bybee was also a nice contemporary romance. This one features a poor girl who needs a rich guy and a rich guy who wants to be loved for something other than his money. My review is here.

Finally, I read Die for Me: A Novel of the Valentine Killer by Cynthia Eden. This was an extremely tense romantic suspense novel about a woman who is the ex-fianc&eactue; of a serial killer who is still fixated on her and a police officer who is trying to stop the killer before he kills again. This was a "read in one sitting" book for me. I couldn't put it down until I knew how the story was going to end. My review will be posted on February 7.
I am currently reading a young adult book from my review stack. Dance of Shadows by Yelena Black is a contemporary story about a girl who goes to the same prestigious ballet school her older sister disappeared from three years before to dance and find out what happened to her sister.

Next week is also filled with review books.
From the Young Adult stack are Pivot Point by Kasie West and Mind Games by Kiersten White. Kasie West is a 2013 Debut Author and Kiersten White is introducing a new series. Pivot Point will be released on February 12 and Mind Games on Feb. 19. I got both of them through the Amazon Vine program.
Lycan Unleashed by Tiffany Allee is a review book I got from Entangled Publishing for review. It was released on January 13. This one is an urban fantasy/paranormal romance.

Til the World Ends by Julie Kagawa, Ann Aguirre, and Karen Duvall was an Amazon Vine pick that could just as easily have gone on my YA stack. Here is just part of the description: New York Times bestselling and critically acclaimed authors Julie Kagawa, Ann Aguirre and Karen Duvall imagine what it takes to survive in a world where everything you know—and love—is about to disappear…forever." This book was released on January 29.

What do you have planned for the coming week? I hope you find lots of time for reading.
