It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (Nov. 10, 2014)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Our first quarter of the school year is finished. I have done all my grades, attended an inservice on our new teacher evaluation program, and did some planning for my second quarter. I have tons more work to do as a result of the workshop but I thought the information was valuable and the work to be be done necessary.

I'm looking forward to a relatively quiet week that will be capped off next Friday by an author signing. A friend and I are scheduled to go up to the Red Balloon to hear Caragh O'Brien speak and to get her latest book (The Vault of Dreamers) signed. I enjoyed the story when I read the ARC last summer and can't wait to meet her.

Read Last Week
Snake Bite by Andrew Lane is the 5th in the Sherlock Holmes: The Legend Begins series and was an exciting adventure. My review will be posted on November 27.

Wake to Darkness by Maggie Shayne was the second book in the Brown and De Luca series. I enjoyed this one much more than the first one. In fact, I ordered copies of the rest of the series. My review will be posted on November 29.
Suspicion by Alexandra Monir was from my YA review stack. I really enjoyed this fast-paced romance/mystery/paranormal while I was reading it. Thinking about it afterwards did raise a number of questions though. My review will be posted on December 4.

Princess of Thorns by Stacey Jay was a slow-paced epic fantasy that took a while to get into. I liked the characters but thought their conflicting curses added too much complication to an already complicated story. My review will be posted on November 29.

Currently
Walking on Her Grave is the final novella in the Rogue River series. I am very eager to learn the resolution to the mystery that has been building through the series.

Next Week
Undercity by Catherine Asaro is a review book I found at Edelweiss. It is the latest book in a science fiction series I enjoy but haven't read for a while. The book will be released on Dec. 2.

Hour of Need by Melinda Leigh is a review book I received from the author. I enjoy her romantic suspense titles. This book will be released on Dec. 9.
Talon by Julie Kagawa is from my TBR mountain. I have been waiting for an opening on my calendar not filled with a review book to read it.

For Real by Alison Cherry is a contemporary young adult story from my review stack. The book will be released on Dec. 9.
