It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.
Other Than Reading...
This week the Elementary threw a retirement luncheon for me and the other two ladies who are also calling it quits this year.
I spent last Saturday cleaning out my garage which was an all-day job and put 11,500 steps on my Fitbit. I also marked most of the things in the garage that I'm going to be selling at my rummage sale. In a marking mood, I also marked the plastic storage stuff my friend and I pulled from one of my kitchen corner cupboards.
Thursday evening I packed my car as full as possible with things that need to go to my new house and took off bright and early Friday morning to deliver them. I'm spending the weekend at the new house and, after a morning of housecleaning, I can just relax and read. My brother got up early - for him - to help me clean and then was off to work. It is nice and quiet as I'm writing this.
Read Last Week
Big City Heat by David Burnsworth is the third Brack Pelton story. I read this one for my stop on the Partners in Crime Blog tour. It was a mystery heavy on action and light on character development. The main character reminded me a little bit of Travis McGee from that old series by John D. MacDonald. My review will be posted on May 18.
I also read Edited Out by E. J. Copperman which was an enjoyable cozy mystery that I received for review from Crooked Lane Press. I liked that the main character was an author of mystery novels. My review will be posted on May 13.
Currently
I am currently reading an ARC of the latest book by Melinda Leigh. Say You're Sorry takes place in Scarlet Falls like her last series but introduces a new character.
Next Week
I'm taking a break from review books and reading a couple of recent additions to my TBR mountain.
- Into the Fire by Jeaniene Frost
- Silence Fallen by Patricia Briggs
- The Gathering Edge by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller - the 20th Liaden Universe book
- Dragon's Time by Todd McCaffrey
- Blade Bound by Chloe Neill finished the Chicagoland Vampire novels starring Merit and Ethan.
- Indigo is a mystery by a bunch of famous authors including Charlaine Harris, Kelley Armstrong and Seanan McGuire. I got this ARC from NetGalley.
Sounds like a busy week getting organised, no wonder you got so many steps up on your fitbit!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed the retirement luncheon, it's nice of the school to recognise and celebrate your efforts.
On the reading front Say you're Sorry looks like my kind of read. Enjoy that one and the rest of your books this week.
