It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.
Other Than Reading...
This was the week of my rummage sale and the weather was awful. Friday was cold and raw. Saturday it rained until late afternoon. Despite the weather, I thought the sale went pretty well. I didn't sell any of the furniture I wanted to get rid of but I sold lots and lots of littler stuff. I was working with a group raising money for a charity. In exchange for half my profits, they will take care of getting rid of everything that didn't sell. I thought that was a very good deal since I don't have to find and hire someone else to do the clean up.
My house is looking pretty bare which should be ideal for the painter who is coming in Monday morning and who will be painting all week. I'll also be meeting with my realtor this week to sign some papers. I hope she knows the name of some good carpet cleaners. Moving furniture revealed that it is pretty grungy. I think that will have to wait until I move out though. My furniture and bookshelves are all cluttering up the middles of each room. I don't intend to reinstall the bookshelves for the couple of weeks I'll still be here. I'd hate to scratch the new paint.
Meanwhile, I'm down to nine student contact days and one teacher workday to finish out my teaching career. I am getting more and more eager to be done.
Read Last Week
Run to Ground by Katie Ruggle was an entertaining romantic suspense title. My review will be posted on June 3.
Silver Silence by Nalini Singh is the latest in her Psy-Changeling series and was excellent. My review will be posted on June 7.

Bad Housekeeping by Maia Chance is a review book that I got from NetGalley.
Next Week
- Come and Find Me by Hallie Ephron (TBR pile)
- Indigo by Charlaine Harris et al. (Review pile)
- Big City Heat by David Burnsworth
- Say You're Sorry by Melinda Leigh
I bought a Kindle copy of Better Than New by Nicole Curtis. I've enjoyed her remodeling program on TV.
To see what Young Adult books I have been reading and plan to read, check out Ms. Martin Teaches Media - my other blog.
The end is in sight!! Enjoy the last few days! I see you've got Sleeping Giants on your TBR - I just bought the audio, but have to finish Bear and the Nightingale first and it's soooooo long. Good, but long. :) I've heard so many great things about Giants though!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS on the nine days left!!! I was excited when I retired.
ReplyDeleteWorking with a charity to split the profits on your sale is a terrific idea. I never heard of that.
ENJOY your reading week and the wrap up of school stuff and house stuff.

Had to look in to see how the rummage sale went. Pity about the weather. Yay to Silver Silence, I have it on pre-order.
ReplyDeleteSorry the weather conspired against your sale. At least you have someone to take away the things you no longer want! Thanks for stopping by earlier.

Carpets are always a mare when you move. We had cream carpets and they took about three goes with the carpet cleaner...good luck!
ReplyDeleteWow! 10 days until you are free. How exciting and scary at the same time. I hope you have the best retirement ever!
