It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (July 13, 2015) #IMWAYR

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Other Than Reading...

This was a quiet week. The weather was mostly pleasant, though Saturday was a little warm, the air conditioner ran all day. Since I was buried in my house reading, I was quite comfortable. Sunday was rather gray and gloomy but still warm. Another good reading day.

Monday mid-morning I need to drop my car off at a local body shop to have the parking lot damage repaired. It happened sometime over the winter and probably in our Elementary School parking lot. It doesn't look like much damage but they are still going to have the car all week. Luckily, I can drive our Subaru Outback this week if I need to go anywhere. The Subaru is my brother's winter car and I haven't driven it for years. Luckily, I don't have plans to go anywhere I can't walk to this coming week.

Read Last Week
What Angels Fear by C. S. Harris was an entertaining historical mystery. It had been on my Kindle since July of 2009. My review will be posted on August 22. It begins a series.

Skinwalker by Faith Hunter starts an urban fantasy series. I liked this story for its main character and its world building. It had been on my Kindle since July of 2009 also. My review will be posted on August 26.
Broken Play by Samantha Kane was a recent arrival. This review book will be released on September 1. This is a very graphic kinky romance. Not really my cup of tea. My review will be posted on August 27.

Total Eclipse by Rachel Caine is the concluding volume of her Weather Warden series. It was action packed and a satisfying conclusion to the series. It had been on TBR mountain since August of 2010. My review will be posted on August 29.

Currently
I got Here I Stay by Barbara Michaels on May 8, 2008. I used to love her books and don't know why this one has been sitting on TBR mountain so long. This week I should finally move it to the "Read" section of my bookshelves.

Next Week
Kindling the Moon and Summoning the Night by Jenn Bennett are the first two books in an urban fantasy series. They have been sitting on the stack since March and April of 2012.
Heart of Brass by Kate Cross has also been sitting on the stack since 2012 - May 1st to be exact. It looks and sounds like steampunk which is one of my favorite sub-genres.

Led Astray by Kelley Armstrong is new. This is an eARC that I received from NetGalley. The book will be released on September 15.

Want to See What I Added to My Stack Last Week?

My inability to resist sequels and deals is sabotaging my goal of actually lowering my TBR stack this summer. Here's what I couldn't resist. At least they are all Kindle books so it doesn't look like my TBR stack is getting taller.
Swordspoint by Ellen Kushner was on a list of recommended books by Gail Carriger. Since I liked many of the other books on the list, I thought I'd give this one a try too.

Moriarty by Anthony Horowitz is a Sherlock Holmes story. I can't pass those up especially when they are cheap. Now I just have to read House of Silk which is already on TBR mountain. Unfortunately, it didn't make the trip up to Duluth with me for the summer.

One of my favorite authors, Lois McMaster Bujold, has written and self-published a novella in her Five Gods Universe. I had to add a copy of Penric's Demon to my Kindle because she has never written anything that I didn't love.
After reading the first Sebastian St Cyr mystery this week, I decided that I wanted to read the rest of the series. So I added the next three books by C. S. Harris - When Gods Die, Why Mermaids Sing, and Where Serpents Sleep.
After reading Skinwalker by Faith Hunter, I wanted to know more about Jane Yellowrock. So I added the second book in the series - Blood Cross.

Half a King by Joe Abercrombie was a Kindle deal this week. I have heard good things about this one and decided to add it to my stack too.

To see what Young Adult books I have been reading and plan to read, check out Ms. Martin Teaches Media - my other blog.
