It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (March 6, 2017)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date.

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Other Than Reading...

This was mid-terms week at school. I spent it letting students know what there current grade is in Media. This coming week is conferences. I am spending Monday evening at the Elementary and Thursday evening at the Middle School/High School. I do expect to see some parents on Thursday as I have a number of failing students. They can't seem to get the concept that they can't pass if they don't turn in their work.

Otherwise, the week has been quiet. I was pleased to see that the new season of The Voice began. That is about the only television program that I consistently watch each week. I am eagerly awaiting the beginning of the baseball season and trying to catch some Spring Training games via MLB.TV.

Coming up on Friday, which is a day off because of the evening conference hours, I will be having my taxes done. I am eager to see how everything turns out this year. I am hoping for a refund since I had to pay last year and therefore adjusted my deductions. Of course other things have changed too. I began collecting Social Security and bought a house.

I think that my reading plans for this week might be optimistic given my two extra evenings at work but here they are:

Read Last Week
Gauntlet by Holly Jennings is a contemporary thriller/romantic suspense title packed with action and with an engaging main character who is an OCD Geek. My review will be posted on March 30.

Mira's Last Dance by Lois McMaster Bujold is the latest novella starring Penric and his resident demon Des. This is a very episodic series of novellas and should be read in order. I love the writing and the characters. Since this was only 87 pages, I won't be doing a review. Anything I say would be filled with spoilers.

Currently
I am just getting ready to begin Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves which arrived this week with a short window before I need to have the review written. It has a March 28 release date.

Next Week
Next up are books that will appear on my April calendar.

Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop
Justice Calling by Annie Bellet

  1. I am always telling myself I should read the Richard Castle books, as I loved the show.

Gone without a Trace looks tempting.

Good luck with the taxes...I always hold my breath until after the appointment, and had to adjust my deductions in 2010 after a huge extra amount to pay in 2009.

So far, so good since then.

Enjoy your week...and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  3. Oh nice! Blood Rose Rebellion is another I want to try to read soon! Also reallllly need to get caught up in Anne's series! I was dismayed to see she wasn't touring near me! For the past two years she actually came to my area which surprised and delighted me. Oh well. Hope you enjoy your reads here for the week as well!

    Here's my Monday Wrap-up

  4. So many books to read and never enough time. I hope you get that refund on your taxes.

  5. I certainly relate to the concept of "I'll promote anyway." My students rarely do their work and fail, and they're right. Our system passes them anyway until they get to high school. :(

Blood Rose Rebellion looks really good. I hope you fit all of your books in this week.
