It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.
I will be combining my YA and adult reading and purchases on this one weekly roundup.
Other Than Reading...
I spent the week listening to audiobooks. After I finished the Others books by Anne Bishop, I noticed that I had a copy of Fledgling by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller in my Audible Library. After listening to that one, I felt like I needed to listen to the rest of the recent Liaden Universe books. The big upside of this decision was that because I own both the hardcover and Kindle versions of each of them, the Audible versions were $1.99 each. I couldn't pass up that kind of deal!
Also, the sun has also started shining in my part of Minnesota and we are again making substantial amounts of power with our solar panels. A couple more sunny days which are forecast and we will have made more power than in our last billing period with almost three weeks still to go in this billing period.
Because of a time miscalculation (the dinner was supposed to simmer for 2 1/2 hour not the one hour my brother thought), we had take-out pizza for dinner last night. This is the first major cheat on our eating plan since we had the same kind of pizza on New Year's Eve. We are both getting quite used to our low sodium, low fat menus. We are also getting better at redoing favorite recipes to reduce the fat and sodium to make them fit into our new diet.
This week sees me having a couple of medical appointments again. My primary care doctor has ordered blood test to see what my A1C and cholesterol numbers are. I'm also going to have an official blood pressure reading to have my doctor decide if my blood pressure medication is at the right level now. Later in the week I'll see my gastroenterologist for my twice yearly visits. That same day I'll have a Dexa Scan to check my calcium levels which is done every couple of years.
