My first sentence(s) are from Pack of Lies by Laura Anne Gilman. This is the sequel to Hard Magic and will be published in mid-January. 

My name is Bonita Torres. I am an investigator with the Private Unaffiliated Paranormal Investigations team of New York. And I love saying that.

This book brings us the second major case that PUPI is investigating. The organization is new and is just getting established. They have to succeed. But when there open-and-shut attempted rape case becomes something much more confusing, they need to scramble to find out what really happened.
