Teaser Tuesday -- Shift by Rachel Vincent

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Author: Rachel Vincent
Publication: Mira; Original edition (March 1, 2010)

Though my father's office practically sizzled with the rage that flowed through me and my fellow enforcers, Paul Blackwell, acting head of the Territorial Council, seemed completely unaffected. I watched him from my place near the closed office door, both arms -- my right still in a cast -- crossed over my chest.

  1. Great teaser! I haven't read any Rachel Vincent, but Shift has popped up on a bunch of blogs, it definitely sounds like an interesting book.

  2. That sounds good in a grim sort of way. My teaser is here.

Love the name of your blog, btw.

  3. I've been meaning to read this series for a while -- I liked Patricia Briggs's 'Mercy Thompson' series a lot and 'The Shifters' was recommended to me as a readalike, but I didn't actually know anyone who had read the series and so was a little reluctant to start :)

  4. Great teaser!
    Sounds like a great book!
    I hope you're enjoying it!
    Happy reading!

  5. Quite the quote! Sounds like quite the action oriented book.

  6. Great teaser :o) My fiance got me the first 4 books in this series for Valentine's Day & I can't wait to read them!

  7. I forgot to say my teaser is here:

  8. I like the way she wrote those sentences. great teaser
