In My Mailbox (August 8, 2010)

The weekly In My Mailbox post is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. It is fun to see what everyone else gets in their mailboxes, shopping bags, and library visits. Click on the link to The Story Siren's site to see the rules and join in the fun.

I guarantee that your TBR pile will grow when you see all the cool books everyone gets. You will discover lots of wonderful blogs and lots of books that you won't be able to live without.

I added bunches of new books to my TBR mountain again this week.
These new additions to series I am reading arrived.

Total Eclipse by Rachel Caine is the 9th in the Weather Warden series.

Whisper Kiss by Deborah Cooke is a Dragonfire novel.

I also added a couple of anthologies because they have stories by authors I like.
Burning Up has stories by Angela Knight and Nalini Singh among others.

Death's Excellent Vacation has stories by Charlaine Harris and Jeaniene Frost among many others.

Then I went browsing and added titles to my Kindle.

I like most of the books I have read by Moira Rogers. When I saw that she had some more erotic paranormals, I decided to give them a try. I added Honor Bound and Under the Magnolia. I also added a three book series about werewolves called Down & Dirty.

Book 1 is Wild Card; book two is Calling the Bluff; book three is Ante Up. These ebooks tend to be more novelette sized than novel length.

I also added a couple of starting books in series by Vivian Arend. I liked her Granite Lake Wolves books. So I chose Tidal Wave and Stormchild. One is about dolphin shifters and the other is about another sort of water shifter. Again these are probably novelette length rather than novel length.

My real prize this week was an eARC of Lois McMaster Bujold's newest Miles Vorkosigan book - Cryoburn. It has been eight years since she has written a new Miles book. I will review it more near the publication date in November but I couldn't wait that long to find out what happened in the story. I devoured it and loved it. It triggered a re-read of the entire Vorkosigan series. I am currently in the middle of book three with bunches more to go.

This is what I got in my mailbox this week. Did you get anything interesting?

  12. Total Eclipse snags my interest, mostly because I have the first one of the Weather Warden series on my tottering TBR pile and I'm wondering when and if to give it some love - is it a series you would recommend?

  17. I was thinking of picking up Death's Excellent Vacation - I've heard so much about those authors, but that's not a genre I've really been into, so I thought that book would be a good start!

    Happy Reading!
