It's Monday, What Are You Reading? (March 12, 2012)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

I had a really good reading week and managed to get caught up (maybe a little ahead!) on my March reading goals. I read these:
Fair Game by Patricia Briggs -- This was an excellent addition to the Alpha and Omega series. I love werewolf stories and this is a particularly good series. My review will be posted on March 15.

Shane's Last Stand by Suzanne Brockmann was an ebook short story prequel to Born to Darkness which I read last week. I read this one last week too but forgot to list it. It provided a deeper background for one of the main characters of Born to Darkness. I didn't review this one but do recommend it for those who are planning to read Born to Darkness.

The Kingdom by Amanda Stevens -- This was an eARC from NetGalley. It is the second in the Graveyard Queen series and had all the ghostly, gothic goodness of the first story. I reviewed it here.
Traitor's Son by Hilari Bell is the second book in her Raven Duet. It concerns aliens from another dimension who want to destroy the Earth because of the ecological damage done by humans and the reluctant young man who has to assist in saving the Earth. I enjoyed this story and especially liked the combination of Native American mythology and ecology. My review is here.

Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter -- This is an eARC that I got from NetGalley and is the second in the Goddess Test series. It was filled with adventure and angst. While I often wanted to shake the main character and tell her to get over herself, I did still enjoy this story. My review will be posted on March 15.
I am currently reading A Rising Thunder by David Weber. This is classic space opera and is the 15th in the Honor Harrington series. It is filled with both space battles and political intrigue and is a good change of pace from all the young adult paranormals I have been reading.

Next week I plan to finish all of the March books I have for review and to read a book that I will be discussing at a workshop I am attending at the end of the month. Here is what is next off my TBR mountain.
The Cowboy Takes a Bride by Lori Wilde was one of my Amazon Vine picks. I thought it would be an interesting romance. It will be published on March 27.

A Perfect Storm by Lori Foster is a book for a blog tour. It is romantic suspense. It will be published on March 27 but my tour stop is April 4.
My Name Is Not Easy by Debby Dahl Edwardson is a National Book Award winner. I will be discussing it at a conference I will be attending at the end of the month. Leading the discussion will be author Will Weaver who was a judge for the National Book Awards.

Spellcaster by Cara Lynn Schultz -- This one is an eARC from NetGalley and is the sequel to Spellbound which I read and reviewed last year. It is another YA paranormal and will be published on March 27.

Those are my plans. What are yours?

  4. I love a good space opera. I haven't read any by David Weber although I have seen him in the shops. Might give him a shot one day.

  5. AWESOME job! I'm behind on my reading. I've been knitting and cuddling with my brand-spanking-new niece. I really want to read Fair Game though!
