FP/TT: Wolf Rising by Paige Dixon

Every Tuesday Diane at Bibliophile by the Sea posted the first paragraph of a book she is reading or planning to read. In 2018, Vicki from I'd Rather Be at the Beach is taking over this meme.

Here's mine:
Gulfport, Mississippi, 2013

Sheriff's Deputy Jayden Brooks had just driven past Bayou High School when the call about a suspicious person came across the radio. Someone had reported a big man lurking around the school's gym with a knife. Mill Road was deserted at this time of night, so he pulled a U-turn across the median and raced back in the other direction, flipping on his lights as he called his response in to dispatch.

Link up here. It is very easy to play along:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! Everyone loves Teaser Tuesday.
Here's mine:
The principal jumped to her feet, her dark eyes filled with fear. "There has to be another way. Going in there could get those students killed."

Gage pinned her with a hard look. "And not going in there could get them killed, too. Our goal is to make sure no one ends up that way today." He looked at Brooks. "Go."
This week I am spotlighting Wolf Rising by Paige Dixon. This is the 8th in her paranormal romantic suspense series. Here is the description from Amazon:
Just when he's found The One...he might lose her.

SWAT Officer Jayden Brooks doesn't believe there's a soul mate out there for him—The One. But when he saves high school teacher Selena Rosa from a hostage situation, he knows he's in big trouble. Her scent is irresistible.

Selena finds the big cop irresistible, too. In fact, the buttoned-up teacher gets a little carried away—during a steamy make-out session, she bites him. Turns out, the traumatizing events at the school triggered her werewolf gene. Fangs and claws are appearing and her aggression is out of control. The change is happening, and Selena doesn't understand.

It's going to take everything Brooks has to pull her back from the edge...and ultimately win her heart.
