WW28: Moon Sworn by Keri Arthur

Here is the Wednesday meme that I plan to participate in when I am not waiting for anything special and can't do Waiting on Wednesday. This was begun at Cherry Mischevious and here is an explanation in her own worlds:
Why Wicked Wednesdays? ... because on top of it being a weekly meme which happens on Wednesdays, it is also an opportunity to showcase your favourites! A shameless and wicked promotion of your favourite books, author or series!! But, you only show what is in page 28 (theoretically).

This "meme" is a variation from Tonya's Friday 56... you know, sometimes a book does not even reach page 56. I got quite a few short story books. And I do not want to exclude eBooks! I now read plenty of eBooks... so I thought I would scale it down to Page 28. Which is hoping to hit the first chapter really. And viola! We have: WICKED WEDNESDAYS! Or in short WW28.

And then these are the rules:
  • First you grab our Wicked Wednesday pic.
  • Then you grab a book. Turn to page 28. Take the first sentence. And then you post it in your site with a link back to WW28.
  • Come back to Cherry Mischievous - WW28 and give us the url of your post (in a comment at a WW28 post) so that other WW28 readers can find your WW28 offering.
My sentence is actually 2 from page 28 of Moon Sworn by Keri Arthur. It is my current book and I am really enjoying it.
Rhoan was waiting with the door open by the time I got there."I smell chocolate croissants."
What are you reading?

W...W...W...Wednesday (April 7, 2010)

W...W...W... Wednesday is a meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. Link your post in the comments to see what others are reading too.

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions!…

What did you recently finish reading?
Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs
  • Why I picked it up: I needed to read the next episode in the life of Mercy Thompson, auto mechanic and coyote shifter, before attending a book signing next Saturday.
  • What I liked: I loved the relationship between Adam and Mercy. I loved seeing more about Samuel as a wolf and as a man who is searching for meaning in his life.
  • What I didn't like: It was just too short! I wanted more.

What are you currently reading?
Saltation by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller
  • Why I picked it up: I downloaded this to my Kindle because I couldn't wait until early May for my autographed copy to arrive. I wanted to know what was next for Theo Waitley
  • What I like: I like all the Liaden Universe books. I want to know how Theo goes on at piloting school and how she develops a problem that needs the Delm of Korval to solve.
  • What I don't like: Nothing. I have enjoyed everything so far.

What do you think you'll read next?
Changeless by Gail Carriger
  • Why I picked this up: It is the second book in the series. I really loved Soulless and was eager to find out what was next for Alexia Tarabotti and Lord Maccon.
  • What I expect to like: If it has even half the humor of the first book, this book will satisfy. I love the characters and the setting. Victorian steampunk paranormal is a genre that I could really learn to love.
  • What I expect not to like: I know that a book three is coming. I just hope that this volume reaches some sort of resolution and doesn't end with a cliff hanger.
I am currently in a sequels craze. I want to get caught up on series that I already know I love before moving on to something new.

W...W...W... Wednesdays

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions!…
•What are you currently reading?

I am reading Princess for Hire by Lindsey Leavitt. So far, I like the snarky attitude of the heroine - Desi. The magic is interesting too.

•What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished Voices of Dragons by Carrie Vaughn. I liked that the heroine was a adventure junkie. I also liked the dragon who was portrayed as another adolescent danger junkie. I just wished we could find out more about dragons and dragon society.

My review is here.

•What do you think you'll read next?

I will be reading either Broken by Shiloh Walker or Born to Be Wild by Christine Warren. It is time for a break from YA books and these have been calling to me for a while.

Alternately, Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs and Succubus Shadows by Richelle Mead are sitting in my mailbox at work. They may both jump the line to vie for my next book.
