Happy Friday everybody!!
Book Beginnings

Book Beginnings on Friday is now hosted by Katy at A Few More Pages
Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

If you like, share with everyone why you do, or do not, like the sentence.

The Friday 56
  • Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
  • Turn to page 56.
  • Find the fifth sentence.
  • Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of Freda's Voice
  • Post a link along with your post back to Freda's Voice
Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

I just picked up Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart by Sarah MacLean. I have enjoyed her other books and was looking forward to a Regency romance.

In retrospect, there were four actions Miss Juliana Fiori should have reconsidered that evening.
Friday 56:

The ton traded on information, and Hyde Park on a beautiful day was the ideal place for the exchange of such a commodity.

It was only a matter of time until his family was made the commodity of the day.

  1. Oh I like that opening - I wonder what those actions were and why she should have reconsidered them! Great beginning!

  2. hmmmm, curious about what the scandals are.

  3. Hi!
I love scandalous books. I'll have to check this one out. Have a great day!

    Just Books

  4. My family was the commodity today, at my brothers funeral. AT least that's kinda how it felt.
    Thanks for participating!

  5. I like the Friday 56. I can just see Hyde Park all a dither. I luv Regency romances and Historicals.
