Book Beginnings on Friday is now hosted by Rose City Reader. The Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice. Check out the links above for the rules and for the posts of the participants each week. Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.
Beginning:
"Oh, damn!" said Lord Peter Wimsey at Piccadilly Circus. "Hi, driver!"Friday 56:
Assigning a motive for the murder of a person without relations or antecedents or even clothes is like trying to visualize the fourth dimension - admirable exercise for the imagination, but arduous and inconclusive. This week I am spotlighting a book I first read years ago. Whose Body? by Dorothy L. Sayers is the first book in the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries. It was written in 1923. Here is the description from Amazon:
Lord Peter Wimsey investigates the sudden appearance of a naked body in the bath of an architect at the same time a noted financier goes missing under strange circumstances. As the case progresses, it becomes clear that the two events are linked in some way!
LOVE that 56!! Sounds like a good read! Happy weekend!
