It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.
I will be combining my YA and adult reading and purchases on this one weekly roundup.
Other Than Reading...
Thus far, I am not a big fan of the new version of Blogger. I don't like the way it handles images. Sorry if some of the images in this post are misaligned. It looks like they should be doing what I want them to do but they really aren't.
This week was a good one for walking. Our temperatures have moderated and walking outdoors has been much more pleasant. I have enjoyed listening to my audiobooks while strolling around the neighborhood.
I have also been enjoying the return of baseball and have been cheering on my Atlanta Braves.
July Reading
I read 23 books in July for a total of 10,431 pages. Fourteen of them were audiobooks in the Honor Harrington series. These are generally long books. They accounted for about 273 hours of listening. I also read 8 review books this month.
I added 44 books to my collection this month including 21 audiobooks and one review book. Fifteen of them are still unread. This is a little misleading though because I bought Kindle copies of the Honor Harrington books which I already owned and read as hardcovers and added on the Audible copy because the total cost was less than just buying the audiobook.

Solar Report
We got our power bill late last week and found that we used $1 more power than we generated last month. Since we have quite a reserve from the past few months, we are very happy with the lack of a bill. We were concerned because it had been a hot month and the air conditioner ran almost all the time.
Read Last Week
If you can't wait until the review shows up on my blog, reviews are posted to LibraryThing and Goodreads as soon as I write them (usually right after I finish reading a book.)

- Death at High Tide by Hannah Dennison - I'm at 24% of this Review book due out on August 18
- Shadows of the Dead by Spencer Kope (August 25)
- Ink & Sigil by Kevin Hearne (August 25)
- The Silence by Kendra Elliot (August 25)
- The Love Scam by MaryJanice Davidson
- An Accidental Corpse by Helen A. Harrison
- Murder in the East End by Jennifer Ashley
- Skating Around the Law by Joelle Charbonneau
- The Stalking Jack the Ripper Collection by Kerri Maniscalco
The Jennifer Ashley book has caught my eye. I saw a review on another blog and the setting is just what I like. You are so on time with your reading schedule. I am always behind.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking books! I also like the idea of strolling around the neighborhood, something not available to me now.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
I tried out the new Blogger, but also didn't like it. Why must they change a good thing? I don't find WordPress to be very user friendly, which is why I stick with Blogger. Seems like they are trying to make it work more like WP.
ReplyDeleteLittle Falls and Death at High Tide look good. Murder in the East End also caught my eye.
Hope you enjoy all your books. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.

You are one of the people I think about when I think about the baseball season (finally) starting. I know it is adding a lot of pleasure in your life.
ReplyDeleteThe new Blogger is strange. When I go to edit an old post, it automatically takes me to the HTML version. When I try to click on the other version, it warns me that there are errors in the HTML.
Death at High Tide looks good!! I just downloaded an audiobook to listen to as well, I have been listening during Wyatt's naptime instead of doing work, and it has been a nice break. :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad you have your baseball back! :)
Death at High Tide looks really good. Hope you get to grips with the new blogger soon!
ReplyDeleteNew blogger has pros and cons, I had problems with my post tags and I can’t seem to preview my post from in the post I have to save it and come out then preview. I’m going to try and stick with it, I’ve heard other blogs complaining about changes at WP.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week and enjoy your new books!
Urgh! The new blogger is pretty must the opposite of user friendly! The only feature that is better than the legacy blogger is when you're in the main menu and you can search by adding multiple labels. Everything else for me is just not as easy to use as the legacy blogger! Sorry for the rant.
ReplyDeleteYeah for air conditioning being tempered by past months of excess electricity generated! Sounds like a good reading week! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!
Whoo hoo!! A 23 book month is incredible. I have the same photo sizing issues with Squarespace but am too lazy to figure it out ;)
ReplyDeleteOOh nice! I still need to finish The Iron Druid Series! Fell so behind once there was that slight delay between books when they paperbacks turned hardcover. Still have the last half to read though! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy this week's queue!
Here's my Monday Wrap-up
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
I've read other complaints about the new Blogger as well. I switched to Wordpress when I started blogging again and I've had quite a learning curve with it! Good luck and enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of the new blogger, especially when trying to update my reviews that are on an older post. Love that your power bill was $1. Have a great week.
