Description: Emma Clark is back in Buckhorn. Once she was the girl with too much makeup and a bad reputation—and she tried everything she could to get Casey Hudson into bed. He was the cutest guy in town, and the only one who seemed to really care about her.
As a hot-blooded teen it was hard for Casey to resist Emma. Now, eight years later, it's impossible. But Emma is doing her best to shut him out—and Casey needs to convince her that the attraction that burns between them isn't just leftover teenage lust, but his real love for a real woman…
My Thoughts: THE BUCKHORN LEGACY was a fun, heart-warming romance about two people who knew each other as adolescents but then didn't see each other for 8 years. Emma chased Casey when they were teens but he was an honorable type who resisted her. Emma was from a difficult home situation and had a reputation for being with a number of boys. When the situation at home went from bad to worse, she came to Casey and his family but felt guilty because she came under false pretenses. She'd told her dad that she was pregnant and Casey was the father in order to get thrown out of the house. Casey was willing to help her no matter what she needed but she slipped away in the night.
At first Casey was worried, then he was angry, and finally he was bitter that she had left. Now eight years have passed and she has come home because her father has had a stroke. In the time away, she had completed her education, found friends that had become family, and found a career she enjoyed. She had built a satisfying life for herself in Chicago. Casey had grown up too. At first when he sees her again, he wants to finish the seduction that she started when they were teens. It doesn't take long before he knows that he wants her around forever.
Emma has never felt at home in Buckhorn because of her own family situation and because of the reputation she had. She is determined that her trip home would be a short one. She is afraid that if she lets Casey get close she will be leaving with a broken heart. It takes determination on Casey's part to convince her to give their relationship a chance.
I liked both Emma and Casey and was rooting for them to find a way to be together. I was also intrigued by the hints of the past romances of Casey's father and uncles and am glad that I have their stories on my Kindle waiting to be read. Romance lovers will find much to enjoy in this story.

He groaned again. "I need a long time, Emma. Hours. Days." Her heart thundered, and she heard him barely whisper, "A lifetime."
Her knees nearly buckled. But men often said things they didn't mean when they were aroused. She had to remember that so she didn't set herself up for disappointment.
Flattening her hands on Casey's chest, she levered him back, smiled and said with absolute certainty, "Yes."
