It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.
I will be combining my YA and adult reading and purchases on this one weekly roundup.
Other Than Reading...
This was a better week for walking than last week. I managed to get out for three long walks while listening to The Others series again. The weather was great and I managed to get a little sunburn on my forehead. I really have to remember to slather on the sunscreen before I head out. I am way too light skinned to face the sunshine unprotected.
As nice as the weather has been, we still haven't needed to turn on the air conditioning which is good for our energy usage and really builds up the credit on our power bill. It does look like Monday will be an AC day since they are forecasting temperatures in the high 80s which is a definite increase from today's mid-60s.
May Report
I read 28 books in May. I listened to about 220 hours worth of audiobooks in the 17 audiobooks on this month's list. Fifteen of the seventeen audiobooks were rereads. I read 8 review books this month too.
I added 22 books to my collection in May. Five were audiobooks and thirteen were Kindle books. I added three new review books. Thirteen of the books are still on the TBR stack including one of the audiobooks.
I've added 143 books so far in 2020 with 89 still unread. Fifty of the additions are review books. I've read 14 of the review books already. I DNFd two of the review books.
Read Last Week
If you can't wait until the review shows up on my blog, reviews are posted to LibraryThing and Goodreads as soon as I write them (usually right after I finish reading a book.)
- Written in Red by Anne Bishop - Audiobook books re-listen
- Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop - Audiobook books re-listen
- Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop - Audiobook books re-listen
- Marked in Flesh by Anne Bishop - Audiobook books re-listen.
- Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop - Audiobook books re-listen
- The Physicians of Vilnoc by Lois McMaster Bujold - This is the 8th Penric and Desdemona novella and tells about Penric being called in to try to find out what is causing a very disturbing and lethal illness among the soldiers under his brother-in-law's command. I don't plan to review it.
- Badger to the Bone by Shelly Laurenston - This is the 3rd in the Honey Badger Chronicles and stars the middle sister Max. It was a fun and funny urban fantasy. My review will be posted on June 20.
DNF
- American Demon by Kim Harrison (June 16) - I read 30% before giving up on this one. It is the most recent in a complicated series and it has been too long since I read the earlier books. I was deeply confused and there were way too many characters that I didn't remember.
Currently
I need to pick something to read to fill the hole left in my calendar by not reviewing American Demon but don't know what I want to read yet.
Next Week
- To Catch an Earl by Kate Bateman (June 30)
- The Finders by Jeffrey B. Burton (June 30)
- The Mountains Wild by Sarah Stewart Taylor (June 23)
Reviews Posted
- The Girls Weekend by Jody Gehrman
- Catalyst by Sarah Beth Durst
- Spy, Spy Again by Mercedes Lackey
- Riviera Gold by Laurie R. King

What was your week like?
Oh bummer you didn't enjoy Kim's latest. I quite liked it. I did struggle with some memory issues, but I pushed myself through. I think some of the unfamiliar characters were ones that had to have just popped up towards the end of the series and that was part of my memory issue with them, they weren't around long enough. Lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy the reads for this week!
Here's my Monday Wrap-up
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
The Girls Weekend looks good. Enjoy all of your lovely books, and congrats on reading SO MANY!
ReplyDeleteHere are my WEEKLY UPDATES
My husband and I always have a bet on when we will turn on the air for the first time. He won this year, it was way too early for me. You had a great May of reading! Hope you enjoy The Finders. Looking forward to some great summer reading.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great reading month in May. I hope June is as successful.
ReplyDeleteOh, it sucks that you DNF'd American Demon. I hope you'd finish and enjoy it if you read the series again before going in, because I love the author and the series, and am really looking forward to it! Thanks for stopping by! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteYou are a true fan of Anne Bishop. I keep seeing her books on your blog. I usually don't re-read books unless they are books I was enchanted by as a teen and want to reread as an adult.
ReplyDeleteMy walking has slowed down, I need to get back at it! Should be easier now with the good weather. In fact it's been HOT here the last few, I admit we've turned our air on now...
ReplyDeleteThe Girls Weekend looks intriguing! :)
220 hours of audiobook listening is seriously impressive!
ReplyDeleteI've also been out walking as much as possible. My family is still sheltering in place as much as we can, but I need the sunshine!
