It's Monday, What Are You Reading? (March 7, 2011)

It's Monday, What are you reading is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

This was a very forgettable week for me. Just a nice quiet week. I did get some reading done.

Last week I read:
The Atomic Weight of Secrets or the Mysterious Men in Black by Eden Unger Bowditch was a book I received for review from NetGalley. This was a middle grade book that is the start of a series. It combines historical fiction, science fiction and fantasy. The book will be published on March 15 and my review will be posted on March 12.

Tortall and Other Lands by Tamora Pierce is a collection of her short stories. Many of the stories take place in her fantasy world and all of the stories are magical in some way or another. You can see my review here.
A World I Never Made by James LePore was a thriller that I received for review from the publisher. I was supposed to be a part of LePore's blog tour but was worried because the book did not arrive. When it finally came, it went on top of the TBR stack. It was an exciting thriller with interesting characters. My review will be posted on March 10. I also have a guest post from Mr. LePore scheduled for March 9.

Dark Mirror by M. J. Putney is Mary Jo Putney's young adult debut. This is a time travel paranormal that takes place in an alternate history England during the Regency Era and during World War II. I enjoyed it and am eager for the next book in the series. My review will be posted on March 10.
The last book I read this past week was a light, quick romance. Game for Seduction by Bella Andre is the second book in The Bad Boys of Football series. I enjoyed the tension between the characters in this one. My review will be posted on March 12.

I am currently reading:
Wither (The Chemical Garden Trilogy) by Lauren DeStefano is a dystopia by a 2011 Young Adult Debut Author. I have just begun this one. So far it is interesting.

Next week:

I am completely undecided about what I will be reading next week.
  • I have a couple of books from Harlequin from NetGalley on my Kindle that I should read soon.
  • My stack of 2011 Young Adult Debut books is getting taller.
  • My adult stack is threatening to topple over.
  • I got River Marked by Patricia Briggs and A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness recently and want to read them soon.

That was my week. Did you read anything great this past week?

  8. I sure hope NetGAlley and Kindle get things worked out soon; I'm about out of NetGalley reads, and all the recent ones I've gotten haven't had a Kindle button.

  16. Just finished book #6 in Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, “River Marked” today and before that read an e-book for review called “The Unfinished Song-Initiate” by Tara Maya this past weekend…

(Kathy enjoy Wither and strongly suggest since you already have River Marked it is very fast and you can finish it quick do read it next)

Will be reading Pale Demon today and tomorrow prior to going in for second cataract surgery on Wednesday the 9th, after that who knows maybe one of my free e-books from Amazon on my new Kindle DX reader….
