It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (Feb. 11, 2013)

It's Monday, What Are You Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

It’s Monday!  What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

Have you ever had one of those weeks when you just couldn't settle down to anything? That pretty much describes my last week. I have bunches and bunches of unfinished tasks sitting around. I did get some reading done. All of my reading this past week was from my Review stack.
I finished Til the World Ends by Julie Kagawa, Ann Aguirre, and Karen Duvall. These three novellas are all about the end of the world or, at least, the end of the world we know. I liked all three stories. I really want Ann Aguirre to write more in that world as she left the most unanswered questions. My review is here for this Jan. 29 release.

Lycan Unleased by Tiffany Allee is the third book in the From the Files of the Under Worlder Enforcement Agency series. The main characters in this one are a human Sensitive and a Lycan. This is also a murder mystery. Both they mystery and the romance were well-written. Look for my review of this Jan. 13 release from Entangled Publishing on Valentine's Day.
Dance of Shadows by Yelena Black had an interesting concept but it failed on execution for me. I couldn't connect with the characters. I also thought that the plot and pacing needed work in this story that combined ballet and demon summoning. My review of this Feb. 12 release is here.

Double Crossed: A Spies and Thieves Story by Ally Carter was an impulse pick from NetGalley and is also free on Amazon. This novella combines Carter's two book series—the Gallagher Girls and The Heist Society—into one novella. The Kindle book also includes the first 3 chapters of Heist Society and 2 chapters from I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You. I have read Heist Society but not its sequels nor have I read any of the Gallagher Girls books. After reading this story I want to read all of them even though a quick glance at my blog calendars shows me that I don't have time now. My review will be posted on Valentine's Day.
I am currently reading Stone Cold Revenge by Jess Macallan. Jess will stop by with a guest post this Friday and I will be posting my review on Saturday. This is the long-awaited sequel to Stone Cold Seduction which I read and reviewed more than a year ago. I got this book from Entangled Publishing. It was released on Jan. 20.

Next week's stack is filled with review books too. Here are the four that are on the top of the pile.
The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd is a 2013 YA Debut novel that I got from Amazon Vine. This one was released on Jan. 29 and is based on an H. G. Wells story—The Island of Dr. Moreau—which I have not read.

Also on the stack from Amazon Vine is Mind Games by Kiersten White. The reviews at Amazon from the early reviewers are very mixed. I'm eager to see what I think.
Also Known As by Robin Benway is a book I got from NetGalley. It is part of the same Triple Threat Blog Tour that Dance of Shadows is part of which makes me a bit worried about this one. However, I was told that it is like the Gallagher Girls and Heist Society. I have the third book on the tour in my stack too. I will be a stop on that book's tour in March.

Finally, I have Released (The Shapeshifter's Library) by Amber Polo on my list. I got this ebook from the author. I liked the blurb that talks about both shapeshifters and libraries.

What do you have planned for this week? Leave me a link and I'll be sure to stop by.
