Friday Memes: Melting the Ice by Jaci Burton

Happy Friday everybody!
Book Beginnings on Friday is now hosted by Rose City Reader. The Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice. Check out the links above for the rules and for the posts of the participants each week. Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

This week I was looking for something steamy and chose Melting the Ice by Jaci Burton. This is the 7th book in her Play-By-Play series and should be a sexy sports romance. Here is the description:
BODY CHECK

Everything’s coming together for budding fashion designer Carolina Preston. Only months away from having her own line, she could use some publicity. That’s when her brother suggests his best friend as a model—hockey player Drew Hogan.

Carolina and Drew already have a history—a hot one, back in college. Unforgettable for Carolina, but for Drew, just another slap shot. This time, though, it’s different. His perfect body would be for professional use only. This time, she could use him.

Drew is all for it. He’s looking forward to the exposure. Plus, it would give him a chance to prove to Carolina that he’s changed. If only he could thaw her emotions, convince her to let down her guard and let him in just one more time…
Beginning:
Carolina Preston's pencil glided over the paper like an Olympic figure skater performing an arabesque.
Friday 56:
He laid the drawing down. "I don't say what I don't mean, Carolina. The reason I picked it up was that it caught my eye. It's something I'd wear on the weekend."

  3. The beginning really made me laugh, the description was just so over the top. But then that can be really fun to read! I'm not quite sure whether this one would be one I'd enjoy, but the synopsis does sound interesting! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!

  4. I love the premise for this one! I love when characters have a history and I like the having to deal with each other on a professional level as well. I'll have to try this one!
