Review: Strange Neighbors by Ashlyn Chase

Strange Neighbors
Author: Ashlyn Chase
Publication: Sourcebooks Casablanca (June 1, 2010)

Description: He's looking for peace, quiet, and a little romance...

There's never a dull moment when hunky all-star pitcher and shapeshifter Jason Falco invests in an old Boston brownstone apartment building full of supernatural creatures. But when Merry MacKenzie moves into the ground floor apartment, the playboy pitcher decides he might just be done playing the field...

A girl just wants to have fun...

Sexy Jason seems like the perfect fling, but newly independent nurse Merry's not sure she's ready to trust him with her heart...especially when the tabloids start trumpeting his playboy lifestyle.

Then pandemonium breaks loose and Merry and Jason will never get it together without a little help from the vampire who lives in the basement and the werewolf from upstairs...

My Thoughts: What a crazy romance! I think I sprained my "suspension of disbelief." Merry MacKenzie moves into a ground floor apartment in an old Boston home. Her landlord is Jason Falco, major league pitcher. Jason is also a shapeshifter who turns into a peregrine falcon and mates for life. They fall in love but have to face a number of problems including Jason's very nosy aunt, an alcoholic paparrazi, and other weird tenants. The other tenants include two witches who make a part of their living by doing phone sex, another shifter who turns into a raven and works in the morgue, a ghost who was murdered and won't let anyone else rent his old apartment, a werewolf, and a vampire who lives in the basement. The vampire happens to be Merry's natural father. Her adoptive father is very protective and keeps wanting her to move back home.

This was a crazy story packed with eccentric characters and filled with hot sex scenes. I recommend it for anyone who wants a sexy, humorous romance.
